About the Role

Rutherford is looking for a skilled Employment and Benefits Specialist to strengthen its legal function. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded corporate counsel background, with 3-7 years PQE and a strong in-house secondment or in-house track record in a Tier 1 financial services environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice on all employment-related matters, developing and implementing employment policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, handling employment litigation matters, conducting internal investigations into employment issues, advising on disciplinary and grievance procedures, and working closely with HR and management teams.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide legal advice on all employment-related matters
  2. Develop and implement employment policies and procedures
  3. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  4. Handle employment litigation matters
  5. Conduct internal investigations into employment matters
  6. Advise on disciplinary and grievance procedures
  7. Work closely with HR and management teams

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong academic track record
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualified experience
  • Must be an England & Wales qualified solicitor
  • Multi-jurisdictional experience highly desirable - particularly Ireland and Jersey
  • Good in-house secondment in a recognised CIB or Asset Manager - or in-house position
  • Must have the right to work in the UK - this role will not be sponsored

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary in the range of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, pension scheme, and annual leave.
