Job Title: Plant Accounting Manager

Brooks Automation is seeking a highly skilled Plant Accounting Manager to join our Global Operations Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the transition of cost accounting functions from our European-based Contamination Control Group (CCG) to our global team in Massachusetts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to Germany and Switzerland to build partner relationships with CCG leaders and develop a deep understanding of the CCG business
  • Shadow and observe the local CCG accountant to gain insight into monthly cost accounting journal entry/reconciliation procedures and other tasks
  • Perform analysis of key CCG financial results, including manufacturing variances, standard cost revaluations, and purchase price variances
  • Participate in the cross-functional project to operationalize a newly acquired CCG expanded manufacturing site in Steisslingen, Germany
  • Perform CCG monthly cost accounting journal/reconciliation procedures and various on-going cost accounting processes
  • Identify and implement points of improvement on existing CCG cost accounting practices/internal controls
  • Provide updates to management regarding the status of implementing these improvements
  • Standardize the review of key performance indicators and financial trends analysis to assist in management's decision-making
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, with a minimum of 5 years' financial/accounting experience
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, with strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Proficiency utilizing ERP systems (Oracle or similar), with added plus if you also have experience with ERP system implementations
  • Ability and excitement to travel to Germany/Switzerland on a quarterly-basis
  • Interpersonal skills, with a focus on solving conflict, not blaming
  • Professionalism, with an approach to others in a tactful manner, and react well under pressure
  • Adaptability, with the ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, and manage competing demands
