Plant Mechanic Job Description

Marlborough Highways is seeking a skilled Plant Mechanic to join our team. As a Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of vehicles and plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled and ad-hoc repairs, servicing, and maintenance of heavy and light commercial vehicles and plant equipment.
  • Workshop-based, with time spent on-site for routine maintenance and breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with a small team to ensure prompt and accurate repair recording within our in-house electronic system.
  • Conduct routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA standards.
  • Prepare and present vehicles and trailers for MOT inspection.
  • Diagnose and repair faults using diagnostic equipment.
  • Attend breakdowns and rectify defects.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to H&S requirements.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork.
Requirements:
  • Hold a qualification in heavy vehicle maintenance.
  • Experience in a heavy vehicle repair and maintenance environment.
  • Strong technical background and ability to diagnose and repair faults effectively.
  • Previous working experience as a HGV Mechanic.
  • Full UK driving license essential.
  • HGV license preferred but not essential.
