Job Description

We are seeking a Dedicated Teaching Assistant for Challenging Behaviours to join our team at Austin Fraser. This role involves working with students who require additional support due to SEMH needs.

About the Role

  • Support students with SEMH needs in both their academic and personal development.
  • Implement individualised strategies to manage and improve challenging behaviours.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support comprehensive student progress.
  • Utilise trauma-informed practices to better understand and address the needs of students.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children who display challenging behaviours.
  • Strong character and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Deep understanding and empathy towards the diverse backgrounds of our pupils.
  • Preferable: Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
  • Transferable experience from roles such as support worker, care homes, young offenders, etc.
