Product Security Expert Needed

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Security Engineer to join our team at Morson Talent. As a key member of our Product Security Engineering (PSE) team, you will be responsible for ensuring that submarine systems and products are designed, built, and delivered with security in mind.

This is a 12-month contract with the opportunity to become permanent, offering a competitive hourly rate of £83.41 inside IR35 (umbrella). The role requires active SC clearance and adherence to UK eyes-only restrictions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of information security principles and be able to advise on the potential impact to Product Systems. They will also have experience of Product Security Engineering activities in CNI domains, such as defence, maritime, utilities, and nuclear. In addition, they should have knowledge and experience of security-related activities required to design, build, and maintain a secure product in line with recognised secure architectural frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective Product Security strategies, policies, guidance, good practices, and awareness programs.
  • Influence system engineers to design and build systems with security by default (culture).
  • Plan and manage work concurrently across multiple security work programmes.

Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have a degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM subject or Information Security related field. You should also hold and maintain relevant cyber security qualifications, such as CISSP, former NCSC CCP working towards Chartered/Principal Cyber Security Professional. Continuous improvement, professional development, and awareness of current industry good practice are essential skills for this role.
