About the Role

We are seeking two experienced Senior/Principal Ecologists to join our London office. As part of our Climate and Sustainability Services consulting team, you will work on a wide range of projects, delivering high-quality ecological services to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and conduct field surveys, including UKHab for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG)
  • Design and coordinate protected species surveys, such as great crested newt, bats, and badger
  • Develop and manage GIS data and mapping outputs
  • Report on Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA), and BNG Assessments
  • Advise on biodiversity design, restoration, and green infrastructure to promote environmental gain and climate resilience
  • Manage ecological project inputs from inception to delivery, including client liaison and meetings, staffing, project controls, and budgets
Requirements
  • BSc degree in a relevant subject, such as Ecology, Zoology, Geography, or Biology
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or equivalent professional body, seeking Chartership
  • Previous experience in the consulting industry, with a broad range of ecological knowledge and experience
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS software and digital tools and technologies
  • Experience with protected species survey licence(s)
