At Viatris, we are dedicated to empowering people worldwide to live healthier at every stage of life. As an Undergraduate Industrial Placement Analytical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in the development of respiratory medicines, working closely with our Global Respiratory Group.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in analytical chemistry, with experience in laboratory settings and a passion for problem-solving. You will be responsible for supporting the development of analytical methods, performing analyses, and processing data to generate scientific understanding.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from drug product formulations to manufacturing processes and device optimisation. You will be mentored by an experienced industrial supervisor, who will guide you through a tailored programme of training and development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development of analytical methods
  • Performing analyses to generate scientific understanding
  • Processing data and highlighting aberrant or suspect results
  • Maintaining laboratory documentation
  • Contributing to project delivery

Requirements include:

  • Registration on an undergraduate chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences related degree program
  • Completion of at least 2 years of study
  • Familiarity with basic principles of analytical chemistry
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to organise tasks and plan own work
