About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Investment Risk Analyst to join our team at Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS). As a key member of our PAIR team, you will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing investment risk at pension scheme level through advanced investment risk analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with senior members of the team on analysis and oversight of scheme risk, including LDI risk
  • Assist with regular production and monitoring of risk reports and conduct relevant risk analysis, including market, liquidity, collateral, and counterparty risk
  • Provide insights and narratives on investment risk for various forums and committees
  • Contribute to mandate and instrument risk modelling
  • Build analytical tools for in-depth risk analysis and assist with the enhancement of automated reporting and visualization within the Financial Risk team
  • Work closely with senior members of the team and other teams across USSIM on supporting new mandates and new instruments onboarding
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects from end-to-end, including planning, gathering requirements, and testing
  • Build relationships with Front Office, IMS, Operations, and the wider organization to enable the team to work more effectively

About You

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in finance, technology, or quantitative finance. You will have a degree in a STEM-related subject or quantitative finance and knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Python, SQL, or PowerBI. You will be comfortable working with data and conducting analyses, able to think and solve problems independently, and have evidence of an interest in investment risk.
