Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled UPS Technical Manager to join our team in Bedford, United Kingdom. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for managing a team of Field Service engineers and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of UPS Field Service engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers, Field Service engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, maintenance contracts, and replacement UPS, Battery, and Capacitor sales.
  • Oversee the Calibration and PAT testing programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage team engineering accreditations and renewals, including ECS and First Aid training.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all engineers' and company administration documents.
Requirements
  • 5 years' experience as a UPS Field Service engineer.
  • 10 years in the Electrical/Electronic Industry or similar.
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction and long-term customer relation building.
  • HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of operating with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to successfully interface with various departments and personnel in potentially stressful situations.
  • A recognized team leader and strong communicator.
