This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated civil/structural engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of new power stations and low-carbon facilities. The role will involve bolstering and enhancing the team's design projects with project management and consultancy, as well as working on varied and interesting projects involving both office-based activities and occasional site-based working.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and enhance the team's design projects with project management and consultancy.
  2. Work on varied and interesting projects involving both office-based activities and occasional site-based working.
  3. Apply your knowledge of structures and structural design to existing gas-fired power stations, undertaking structural appraisals and inspections of structures, and assisting with assessing the condition of the asset or being involved with plant modifications or major repairs.
  4. Deliver engineering solutions safely, on time, and to budget that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Requirements:

  1. Demonstrable experience within Civil/Structural Engineering with a broad design background in the design of steel and reinforced concrete structures.
  2. Proven experience in developing projects from concept through to detailed design stage.
  3. Ability to produce technical specifications and scope of work documents.
  4. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify design improvements at all stages of project development.
  5. Ability to clearly communicate technical matters to both design engineers and project directors in written and verbal form.
  6. Project management experience and ability to manage others, both internally and externally, while managing time and budgets and critically identifying areas for improvement.
  7. Experience of design software.
  8. Full Driving License is required, along with a willingness to travel to customer sites throughout the UK.
  9. Hybrid working with two to three days per week in the Nottingham office.

Desirable:

  1. Experience in large industrial projects, particularly in the Petrochemicals or Power sectors.
  2. Experience in project development, undertaking the Owners Engineer role, and designing medium-sized industrial buildings would be beneficial.
  3. Ability to produce well-written technical reports based on site inspections of a range of structural forms and ages.
