We are seeking a skilled Preservation Specialist to join our team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our property care division, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our customers across the region.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in preservation joinery and be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team. You will be responsible for servicing our customers' properties, carrying out tasks such as hack-off ceiling/wall plaster, strip and replace timber wall framing and partitions, and installing damp proof courses and cavity drainage membrane to industry standards.

A competitive salary of £24,575 per annum (OTE £30,000) is on offer, along with a company van, fuel card, uniform, and tools. Our monthly bonus scheme and grading promotions that increase your basic salary based on annual performance also make this a unique opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hack-off ceiling/wall plaster, strip and replace timber wall framing and partitions, prior to installing damp proof courses and install cavity drainage membrane to industry standards
  • Carry out timber treatments such as insecticide/fungicide sprays and remedial repairs for dry and wet rot, which include the timber renewal element and chemical treatments
  • Remove and renew timber lintels, including bricking back up
Requirements

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Preservation joinery experience
  • An apprenticeship background, City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications (not essential)
  • Experience working as a Joiner, Carpenter or a Preservation Technician
  • A full UK manual driving licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 penalty points
