Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced consultant to join our team of specialists in gynaecological oncology. As a Senior Gynaecological Oncology Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting research, and contributing to the development of new treatments.

This is a fixed-term post following the retirement of a third sub-specialist consultant. You will have the opportunity to work closely with other specialists, including obstetricians and gynaecologists, and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

The successful candidate will have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent qualification in gynaecological oncology, and be registered in GMC's specialist register or eligible for award of CCT within six months of interview.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with gynaecological cancers, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Conduct research into gynaecological oncology, with a focus on improving treatment outcomes and developing new therapies.
  • Teach and train junior medical staff in gynaecological oncology.
  • Work collaboratively with other specialists to develop new services and improve patient care.
