About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Clinical Operations team at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist patient-centred assessment and treatment for individuals with complex neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients with complex physical, cognitive, and communicative needs, prioritizing effectively to reduce risk and manage disability or rehabilitation needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments and provision of 24-hour postural management programs, including assessment and provision of splints, and participation in assessment of seating and bed positioning.
  • Provide specialist patient-centred assessment and treatment for a complex neurological clinical caseload, working effectively as part of a specialist multi-disciplinary team.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary working, including meetings, reviews, discharge planning, and reports.
  • Ensure professionalism and excellent communication with staff, patients, and relatives, demonstrating an awareness of the hospital's objectives and contributing to achieving them appropriately.

Person Specification
  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy recognized by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists/College of Occupational Therapists.
  • Interest in the clinical management of severe neuro-disability.
  • Proficient understanding of evidence-based practice and physical assessment of complex neuro presentations.
  • Good understanding of long-term neurological conditions.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 18 months' experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist and minimum of 6 months' experience working in the field of neuro-disability.
  • Ability to prescribe and grade a detailed treatment plan.
  • Flexibility to respond to rapidly changing requirements and implement new ideas.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a large caseload.
