IT and Data Quality Director

We are seeking an experienced IT and Data Quality Director to join our team at The Saltaire & Windhill Medical Partnership. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in driving the development and implementation of our IT strategy, ensuring the highest standards of data quality and governance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of our IT strategy, aligning with our business objectives and ensuring seamless integration with our clinical systems.
- Oversee the management of our clinical system (SystmOne) to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of SystmOne and other relevant software suppliers, making recommendations for improvement and innovation.
- Build and extract data for service improvement, internal and external reporting, and quality assurance.
- Create and manage templates, protocols, and SystmOne alerts to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Develop and maintain our Practice website, ensuring it is up-to-date, accurate, and user-friendly.
- Provide upskilling training to staff on the use of information systems, ensuring they are equipped to meet the demands of our Practice.
- Lead on analysis of datasets from information systems and data provided from internal and external sources to inform business decisions and drive improvement.
- Build a working relationship with our NHS IT system provider to maximize the benefits of the service for our Practice.
- Develop robust IT business continuity plans to minimize disruption in the event of an NHS IT failure.
- Ensure all IT-related standard operating procedures are documented, reviewed, communicated, and adhered to.
- Support the installation and configuration of hardware and software within the Practice.
- Maximize internal systems to ensure robust delivery of services, including Wi-Fi, telephone systems, and mobile devices.
- Be the main contact for coordinating all IT issues within the Practice.
- Lead on ensuring best practice in Information Governance, working closely with the ICB, Data Protection Officer, and Information Governance Lead.
- Undertake tasks required or advised under GDPR, including data mapping, reporting data breaches, compiling retention schedules, and compliance audits.
- Manage and oversee agreements with third-party organizations to ensure our data is protected appropriately.
- Ensure data sharing agreements are in place with third parties.
- Identify training needs and provide regular staff updates.
- Maintain an organization training matrix.
- Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Security Toolkit around Data requirements and develop action plans to address any non-compliance.
- Have knowledge and experience of maintaining records to CQC standards.
- Experience in supervising/managing/training staff.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to formulate strategy and produce operational policies and procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Proven work experience in management, operations, or communication.
- Experience of managing a customer-focused team.
- Desirable: Experience of working in an NHS setting, effective time management and prioritization skills, and recognized leadership and/or management qualification.
