Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architect to support our clients' pivotal project work and contribute to bid and proposal writing for future projects.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software-based Ground Segment Systems, including Monitoring and Control Segment Systems, Mission Systems, User Segment Systems, and Earth Observation Data Management Systems.
  • Plan and execute Integration and Test campaigns.
  • Produce technical and development plans.
  • Participate in technical reviews.
  • Prepare proposals to win new work, including understanding technical requirements, specifying solutions, and writing clear technical proposals.
Software Development
  • As required, provide hands-on software development support to projects, including coding, code review, prototyping, and validating approaches and frameworks.
Qualifications and Experience
  • University Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or related discipline with software modules.
  • At least 10 years of commercial experience in software development, preferably in the space industry.
Essential Skills
  • Requirements analysis.
  • Software system design using modern architectures.
  • Configuration management (Git source code control).
  • Agile software development methodology.
  • Linux development.
  • Resource-Oriented Architecture Development (REST).
  • Continuous integration/deployment environments (Jenkins).
  • Virtualisation/cloud-based computing.
  • Containers and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • DevOps.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of Ground Segment Systems.
  • Machine learning and AI.
  • Knowledge of OGC Standards (WPS, WMS, WFS, WCS).
  • User Identification, Authentication, and Authorisation (SAML, OAUTH, OIDC).
  • Big Data Processing and Frameworks (Hadoop).
  • Big Data Databases (HDFS, other non-SQL).
  • Windows development.
  • Scripting (shell, perl, python).
