Freight and Shipping Coordinator Job Description

At Reed, we are seeking a highly skilled Freight and Shipping Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods from import to export.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customs Procedures: Complete customs procedures with accuracy and meet deadlines both internally and those defined by customs.
  2. Documentation: Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
  3. Liaison: Liaise with UK importers/shipper, overseas partners, and internal departments to arrange collections and deliveries.
  4. Financial Management: Accurately complete customs paperwork, shipping documents, and manage daily financials, including costings and invoices.
  5. Security and Compliance: Adhere to Aviation Security and company security procedures.
  6. Process Improvement: Cross-train to support other team members and work with the team to continually improve processes and business performance.

Requirements:

  • Previous freight forwarding experience working within importing (80%) and exporting (20%).
  • Knowledge of UK Customs, including HAWB's, Home Use / T1's, NCTS, and incoterms.
  • Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
