Service Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join our team at Verto People. This exciting opportunity will involve carrying out maintenance, installation, diagnosis, repair, and testing services across a range of diesel generator sets, switchgear, control systems, and associated electrical critical power equipment.

About the Role:
  • Carry out service and preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, testing, and repairs on various generators and associated electrical critical power equipment.
  • Maintain and service critical power supply equipment and associated electrical equipment in commercial and industrial sites across the Southwest.
  • Conduct diagnostic, testing, and remedial works on generators, switchgear, and associated equipment, and support planned maintenance where required, including load banking.
  • Project spares requirements for upcoming and planned works.
  • Support operational tasks, including reporting, quotations, progress reports, and customer inquiries.
  • Liaise with engineering departments.
Requirements:
  • Experience as an Electrical Engineer, Generator Engineer, or similar.
  • Qualification in 18th Edition Electrical Regulations and 2391/2 Inspect and Test would be ideal.
  • A qualified electrical engineer with NVQ Level 3/HNC/HND in Electronic/Electrical would be advantageous.
  • Solid understanding and experience within critical power applications such as LV control panels, electrical distribution, power electronics, electrical installation, generators, or similar.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Flexibility for overtime and part of the on-call rota.
  • Ability to obtain client clearances, including police and MOD clearance.
