Critical Power Generation Specialist Role

This position involves the maintenance, installation, diagnosis, repair and testing of diesel generator sets, switchgear, control systems and associated electrical critical power equipment.

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in working with generators and associated electrical equipment, allowing them to maintain and service critical power supply equipment. They will also be responsible for diagnostic, testing and remedial works on generators, switchgear and associated equipment, and supporting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance, repair and testing services on generators and associated electrical equipment.
  • Carry out maintenance and servicing of critical power supply equipment and associated electrical equipment, mainly generators in commercial and industrial sites across the Southwest.
  • Diagnostic, testing and remedial works on generators, switchgear and associated equipment, and support for PPM activities.
  • Determine spares requirements for upcoming and planned works.
  • Support operational tasks such as reporting, quotations, progress reports, customer inquiries, etc.
  • Work with various engineering departments.
Requirements:
  • Experience as an Electrical Engineer, Generator Engineer, Generator Technician, UPS Engineer, Service Engineer, Service Technician, Power Generation Engineer or similar.
  • Qualifications in 18th Edition Electrical Regulations and 2391/2 Inspect and Test would be beneficial.
  • A qualified electrical engineer holding NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electronic / Electrical would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with critical power applications like LV control panels, electrical distribution, power electronics, electrical installation, generators or similar.
  • UK driving license.
  • Flexibility for overtime and on-call duties.
  • Ability to obtain client clearances.
Package:

£35,000 - £40,000 per annum, plus benefits including company van, phone and laptop, overtime and 6% pension contribution.
