Opportunity Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse at University Hospital Crosshouse, working in the esteemed Acute Care Unit (CAU). As a key member of the team, you will be accountable for the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of care programs for defined patient groups, adhering to the professional standards outlined in the NMC Code.

Responsibilities

Within the CAU, there are five distinct areas that require tailored approaches to patient management: Initial Assessment, Rapid Assessment and Care (RAC), Acute In-patient zones, Ambulatory Care, and the Operational Response Centre (ORC). As a Staff Nurse, you will work closely with the Senior Charge Nurse to deliver high-quality care, supporting the needs of patients and collaborating with the allied multidisciplinary team. Your role will involve:

  • Providing skilled assessment, care, and support to patients across the CAU areas.
  • Collaborating with the Senior Charge Nurse to develop, implement, and evaluate care programs for patient groups.
  • Working within the NMC Code and adhering to the standards of professional practice.
  • Supporting the team to meet the needs of patients and the multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • The ability to revalidate every three years, with a commitment to ongoing reflection and feedback.
  • A growing knowledge of unscheduled, acute care, and a desire to develop skilled assessment abilities.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Working Arrangements

This is a fixed-term/secondment opportunity for X months, with various hours available per week. A UK driving licence and car ownership are essential for this role.
