We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of History to join our dynamic faculty at Wayman Learning Trust, a thriving secondary school in Ealing. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to shape the future of History education within a supportive and academically rigorous environment.

">About the Role
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the History department, aligning with the school's overall vision and educational goals.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging History curriculum that fosters a love of learning and critical thinking.
  • Oversee the work of History teachers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and a deep understanding of historical events.
  • Promote the importance of historical literacy and its relevance to contemporary issues.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Possesses a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in History or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrates a strong passion for History and a proven track record of success in leading and developing History programs.
  • Excels in leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and collaboration.
  • Has a deep understanding of the National Curriculum for History and the ability to create innovative and engaging learning experiences.
  • A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and individual strengths.
