Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with a primary school in Burnley, supporting children who present challenging behaviour across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work on a 1:1 basis with pupils who struggle with their studies, providing individualised support and guidance.
  • Manage challenging behaviour and work with disengaged students, using effective strategies to promote positive behaviour.
  • Support students with Functional Skills Maths and English, using maths and English skills to effectively support students.
  • Work in both practical and classroom-based workshops, providing a supportive and engaging environment for students.
  • Report to the class teacher and SENCO on a daily basis, monitoring and assessing student progress.
Requirements:
  • Confident to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience managing challenging behaviour and working with disengaged students.
  • Maths and English skills, so that you can effectively support students with Functional Skills Maths and English.
  • Willing to support in both practical and classroom-based workshops.
  • Confident to report to the class teacher and SENCO on a daily basis.
