About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Instructor/Tutor to join our team at CV-Library. The successful candidate will work closely with the tutor to deliver high-quality teaching and learning to young people in the construction industry.

The Construction Instructor/Tutor will be responsible for assisting the tutor in the development of resources, teaching materials, schemes of work, and lesson plans for all lessons as per their timetable. They will also support the planning for new courses and activities at the Centre and externally.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assist the Tutor in the development of resources, teaching materials, schemes of work, and lesson plans for all lessons as per your timetable
  • To support the planning for new courses and activities at the Centre and externally
  • The planning and preparing of all learning activities with guidance from the Tutor
  • Assist the Tutor with the delivery of teaching and learning
  • To support the students to find creative ways to achieve learning across the levels for individuals (especially those with additional needs)
  • To support students in community projects to promote engagement and work experience
  • Maintaining group registers, tracking progress, and providing feedback to both students, centre staff, and student schools
  • Keep all behaviour logs and student records updated
  • To positively engage with all students including those that display challenging behaviours, enabling students to be treated as individuals in a person-centred manner
  • To supervise a work area, with support, in the absence of a Tutor
  • Deal, in conjunction with the Welfare department, with any student conflict or incidents in line with both the individual's plans and company policies, ensuring all incidents are recorded properly
  • To work as part of the team to manage student's behaviour on site, in accordance with the company's ethos, code of conduct, behaviours, and rewards policy and the overriding corporate strategy
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and resources for the purposes of teaching and learning
  • Maintain standards required under the Health & Safety at Work Act and all relevant health and safety regulations
  • To support other staff where needed across core activities
  • Contribute, where possible, with the development of the vocational curriculum, and subsequent design of delivery areas and methods
  • Contribute to and participate in the whole organisation's performance, leading by example and working as part of a team
  • To support the management with the registration and management of vocational qualifications.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working within the construction industry
  • Teaching/training qualifications or willingness to undertake
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Salary

£30,000 - £40,000 per annum
