About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality specialist clinical assessments and treatment plans for children and young people with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, including psychiatric and physical investigations, to identify the needs of children and young people.
  • Develop and implement individually tailored treatment plans in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Work closely with nurses, psychologists, systemic family therapists, and child psychotherapists to provide a comprehensive service.
  • Participate in regular division meetings and clinical governance meetings to ensure high-quality care and service delivery.

Person Specification
  • MBBS qualification
  • Entry onto the specialist register or within 6 months
  • Ac status or achievable within 3 months
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent clinical skills using a biopsychosocial perspective and wider medical knowledge
