Steriliser Engineer

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.

About the Role:

The Steriliser Engineer will be responsible for ensuring adequate Cobalt 60 activity levels to maintain steriliser capacity and meet manufacturing demands. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage Cobalt 60 supply and coordinate validation processes.
  • Support the export of returned Cobalt 60.
  • Investigate industrial irradiator technology and dosimetry methods.
  • Provide technical and engineering support, including product cycle time development.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing and permits for Cobalt 60 operations.
  • Conduct dosimetry calibration, verification, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with the iSALT corporate sterilisation team on operations and validation.
  • Oversee radiological safety systems, training, and procedures.
  • Report engineering and radiological issues to management, statutory bodies, and relevant teams.
  • Mentor steriliser operational associates.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Over 5 years of experience in a regulated environment.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis techniques and project management.
  • Knowledge of relevant national and international standards.
  • Strong IT skills and excellent communication abilities.
