We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Radiotherapy Physics Specialist to join our team at the Plymouth Oncology Centre.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in radiotherapy physics and a proven track record of providing expert advice and leadership in this field.

As a Senior Radiotherapy Physics Specialist, you will be responsible for acting as the Medical Physics Expert under the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations and coordinating the work of other MPEs in the group.

You will also ensure that there is a training programme in place for staff to be trained to act as Radiation Protection Adviser for Radiotherapy and relevant Radiation Protection Supervisors.

Additionally, you will provide highly complex scientific and technical advice to clinical staff concerning the scientific and technical aspects of Radiotherapy/Brachytherapy treatment procedures.

This role requires a high level of understanding of patient and staff risks arising from exposure to non-ionising and ionising radiation, as well as a broad and developed knowledge of clinical procedures and practices in radiotherapy.

We offer a competitive salary of £90,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as the Medical Physics Expert under the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations
  • Coordinate the work of other MPEs in the group
