Leadership Role in Radiotherapy Physics

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Scientist to take on a leadership role within the Radiotherapy Physics team at Plymouth NHS. This exciting opportunity will allow you to develop your skills and expertise in radiotherapy physics, while contributing to the provision of high-quality services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and managing scientific support for various Oncology work streams, including Image-guided radiotherapy, Radiation Dosimetry, Quality Assurance, and Radiation Protection. They will also provide specialist support in areas such as Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), High dose rate (HDR) Brachytherapy, and Radiotherapy Treatment Planning Services.

As a Medical Physics Expert, the post holder will be expected to adhere to the ISO 9001:2015 accredited quality system, coordinate staff assignment for quality assurance programs, and work with the Head of Radiotherapy Physics to develop Service Level Agreements.

The ideal candidate will have advanced theoretical knowledge and practical experience in Image Guided Radiotherapy, radiation protection legislation, pre-treatment imaging technologies, and image processing software. They will also have well-developed IT skills, including Office suite and specialist software systems.

A salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum is available for this position, depending on experience.
