About the Role
This is a part-time, reduced year role: 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
We are seeking a cleaner to support our PMLD and Complex needs department. The successful candidate will ensure that our new campus is kept clean and safe for our learners.
The Vine is a department with over 60 learners with complex needs and behaviours that can challenge. Our highly skilled team delivers a varied curriculum to meet each learner's individual needs in line with their EHCPs. We strive for the highest standards for our learners and aim to enable them to become as independent as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high-quality, effective cleaning service to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Keep accurate and timely records, recording progress and strategies used, as required.
- Assist with emergency evacuation plans and practices, and support the team with all emergency evacuations.
- Comply with policies and procedures relating to health and safety, confidentiality, and General Data Protection regulation, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
- Apply restorative practice to communications with learners and colleagues, and be a proactive, flexible, and supportive member of the team.
About You
- Experience of cleaning.
- Experience of working in a team and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience of successful administration/IT skills.
- Able to establish rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
- Desirable: Experience of working with students who have high needs or SEN to support their learning through identifying strategies and preparing young people for adulthood.
