The Role:

You will be accountable for managing the design and construction activities for allocated projects as a Project Engineer, working closely with Route Asset Engineers, Designers, and Project Contract Engineering Managers.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Managing engineering activities to ensure schemes are affordable and meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for time, cost, and quality.
  • Maintaining the use of relevant techniques and procedures of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and HAZOP analysis to allocated projects.
  • Monitoring design and specialist consultants and contractors.
  • Providing project management advice regarding all construction activities, including testing and commissioning and site supervision.

In addition, you will be required to liase with and draw in other discipline technical support from the Project Engineering Management team where the works being worked on affect core discipline works.

As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of high-quality designs, ensuring they meet current legislation, including construction design management (CDM) regulations.

Salary:

£62,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits and a range of discounts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience in engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi-discipline areas.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and CDM, risk assessment, engineering management competency.
  • An appreciation of environmental issues in engineering works and project safety management experience.
