We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Holistic Cancer Support Specialist to join our team at Self Help Nottingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to make a real difference in the lives of people affected by cancer.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, holistic support to patients on the cancer pathway. Working closely with GP surgeries, healthcare professionals, and external services, you will work tirelessly to address the wider determinants of health and wellbeing from within the health service.

As a key member of our team, you will be involved in conducting in-person Cancer Care Reviews, liaising with a range of professionals to address the wider wellbeing needs of patients, and working collaboratively to ensure the best possible outcomes for each individual.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting in-person Cancer Care Reviews and liaising with healthcare professionals to address patient wellbeing needs
  • Working collaboratively with GP surgeries and external services to deliver holistic support to patients
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patients, and carers
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to patients and their families
  • Collaborating with the Macmillan Beyond Diagnosis Service to ensure a seamless delivery of care
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A basic understanding of cancer and its impact on people's lives
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a cancer-related role
Salary

The salary for this role is £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
