We are seeking an experienced Chief Commercial Contract Specialist to join our team at Driver Consult Limited.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to enhance our commercial capabilities and support projects in all aspects of the business. The successful candidate will be based on Teesside and will work closely with our existing team to ensure seamless delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and ensure adherence to contract terms and conditions, guaranteeing compliance with industry standards.
  • Attend site visits as required to monitor commercial compliance and provide expert advice to project teams.
  • Ensure timely and accurate issuance of applications and invoices, aligned with contract specifications.
  • Commercially manage change events to achieve successful outcomes, mitigating potential risks.
  • Monitor debtors and collaborate with the credit control team to resolve outstanding payments efficiently.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on Work-in-Progress (WIP) and Cost Value Reports, providing valuable insights into project performance.
  • Review weekly operational reports to track commercial progress, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Offer contractual and commercial assistance on projects, including attending progress meetings and supporting programme management under NEC contracts.
  • Effectively manage subcontractors, ensuring smooth collaboration and timely delivery of services.
  • Place orders, certify applications, manage changes, and agree upon final accounts, maintaining a high level of professionalism throughout.
  • Resolve client financial or contractual issues and disputes, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Control WIP levels and review monthly to maintain optimal levels, minimizing financial risks.
  • Review and control the monthly Gross Profit report to ensure accurate costs and revenues, making informed decisions to drive business growth.
About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar industry-recognized qualification.
  • At least 5 years of post-graduate experience, preferably on-site, with expertise in civil engineering, groundworks, or land remediation.
  • A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and their implications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to demonstrate financial and commercial acumen for value and cost management.
  • Strong organizational skills, enabling you to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, reflecting the importance of this role in driving business success.
