Homeless Support Worker

Become a vital part of our team at TWO SAINTS as we launch our new Bournemouth Housing First service. As a Homeless Support Worker - Community Care Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing intensive, one-to-one support to individuals who are homeless across Bournemouth, Poole, and Christchurch.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with people who face homelessness and be committed to helping them achieve their goals. You will work closely with clients to identify their needs, create personalized support plans, and connect them with outreach workers and other agencies.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Building strong relationships with clients and supporting them to maintain their accommodation
- Working collaboratively with outreach teams and other organizations to ensure a holistic approach to care
- Identifying clients' strengths and talents to encourage positive behavioral changes
- Supporting clients to access essential benefits and services
- Challenging harmful behaviors and promoting harm reduction approaches
- Encouraging clients to engage in education, training, and employment opportunities
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Clear verbal and written English skills
- Excellent IT and keyboard skills
- A polite and assertive manner, with the ability to self-motivate
- A passion for client-facing work and a commitment to helping others
- Knowledge of the benefits system and tenancy legislation
- An interest in homelessness and related issues
- Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies
