About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Area Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of associates in a cluster within the UK, with a focus on optimizing operations and engagement to drive performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Safety and Compliance: Safeguard your team's safety, promoting Amazon's Health and Safety standards, and ensuring compliance with all safety programs.
  2. Team Engagement and Motivation: Ensure your team is engaged and motivated, with a culture of ownership and high performance.
  3. Process Quality: Uphold Amazon's high standards of process quality and actively share and promote best practices with your colleagues and network.
  4. Problem-Solving: Find practical and simple solutions to complex problems without sacrificing quality or core functionality.
  5. Project Management: Think analytically about project management and provide day-to-day support during the rollout/implementation of newer systems/processes.
  6. Communication: Prepare and participate in Operations daily calls to communicate your team's performance to TOM leadership.
  7. Travel and Compliance: Require extensive travel within your cluster and ensure fleet and driver compliance through active monitoring and reporting.
About the Team

Amazon's Transportation Service (ATS) team plays a central role in our success, using air, sea, and road transport, as well as sortation centres equipped with the latest technology. Our team captures data and uses it to drive decisions.

Transportation Associate Programme (TAP)

TAP is a Programme within EU Amazon Transportation Services (ATS), executing shunting and short distance over the road driving with Amazon Associates drivers. TAP's mission is to provide a safe, sustainable, profitable, and best-in-class transport operations that supports Amazon's growth, and to offer AA a new career opportunity.

Requirements
  1. Transport Managers Certificate: Hold a Transport Managers Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) National and International.
  2. Leadership Experience: Relevant experience in leading a busy and large-scale transport operation within a growing and rapidly scaling business.
  3. Performance Metrics: Experience with performance metrics and process improvement and data-driven decision making.
  4. Language Skills: Advanced proficiency in written and verbal English.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Master's Degree: Master's Degree in Operations Research, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Economics, Business Administration, or a similar related discipline.
  2. Operator's Licence: Experience of being named on an Operators Licence within the Transport industry.
