Goonhilly Earth Station Ltd is a pioneering commercial satellite and space communications company, working at the forefront of the UK's growing space sector. We are a rapidly expanding business with assets in the UK, and USA.
We are currently seeking a Financial Controller to develop and strengthen the finance function in line with our future growth ambitions.
The Opportunity- Responsible for the day-to-day financial operations, including managing the company's financial planning and overseeing all financial reporting.
- Oversee all transactions and processing systems, implementing operational best practices and ensuring effective internal controls are in place.
- Assist in formulating the company's strategy and supporting tactical initiatives, collaborating effectively with colleagues and teams within the business.
- Provide leadership, direction, and management of the finance team, including outsourced processes, and establish and maintain good relationships with external partners and other stakeholders.
- Responsible for risk management and mitigation, including evaluating insurance options and choosing suitable ones for the company.
- Oversee financial due diligence process of acquisitions.
- Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent).
- Degree, or relevant professional qualifications, or equivalent ability demonstrated through experience.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law, accounting standards, and risk management practices.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods, proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
- Proven experience of financial forecasting, analytical mindset, and comfort working with numbers.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels, and fluent level of both spoken and written English.
