The Airfield Operations Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our airfield operations.

  1. Conduct thorough inspections of the airfield, including pavements, markings, signs, lighting, and other essential infrastructure.
  2. Collaborate with air traffic control to coordinate closures and ensure minimal disruption to flying operations.
  3. Oversee construction activities on the airfield and prioritize maintenance repairs to ensure a safe operating environment.
  4. Respond promptly to in-flight and ground emergencies, utilizing effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  5. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of base operations, including events logs, flight schedules, and emergency notifications.
  6. Ensure compliance with FAA, UFC, and ICAO regulations, maintaining a working knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.
  7. Provide exceptional support to aircrews, facilitating safe flight operations through accurate information and assistance.
  8. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, contributing to the continuous enhancement of airfield operations.
  9. Cultivate strong relationships with tenants and community activities, resolving conflicts and issues in a professional and efficient manner.
  10. Prioritize and schedule airfield activities with tenant and transient unit commands, ensuring seamless operations.
  11. Communicate effectively with relevant departments to coordinate aircraft activities and maintain continuous operations.

Job Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience in airfield inspection and base operations/flight dispatching.
  2. Preferred USAF Airfield Management 5, 7, or 9 level qualified.
  3. Ability to obtain an airfield driver's permit and possess normal color vision.
  4. Possession of a valid state driver's license.
  5. Three years of airfield operations experience; five years preferred.
  6. High school diploma or equivalent; prefer AA/AS degree in aviation.
