Technical Purchase Sourcing Role

We are seeking a skilled Technical Purchase Sourcing professional to join our team at Cummins Inc. in the UK, Huddersfield. As a key member of our Corporate/CBS Segment, you will be responsible for purchasing assigned items and executing buying strategies to optimize cost and lead times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchasing and procurement of goods and services to meet business requirements.
  • Analysis of sourcing information to identify cost reduction opportunities and process improvements.
  • Support and lead various projects from conception to closure, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Procurement of inventory, supplies, and capital goods, including obtaining quotations and raising orders with vendors.
  • Expediting orders to ensure timely delivery and analyzing sourcing and purchasing initiatives to improve efficiency.
  • Engagement in design and process responsibilities to achieve cost-effective products and conducting minor supplier negotiations.

Requirements

  • Accredited qualification in Technical or Manufacturing Process background with relevant industry experience.
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain practices and good MS package experience.
  • A willingness to challenge processes and designs as experience develops, demonstrating working to committed deadlines.
  • A structured approach to problem-solving and project management, combined with the ability to manage concurrent projects and deal with various priorities.
