We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in a period of rapid growth. As a Construction Commercial Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of several exciting projects, ensuring effective cost control, value for money, and supporting the overall project lifecycle from inception to completion.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience of at least 3 years as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction or property development industry. They will hold a relevant industry qualification (Level 4 or higher) and possess strong people management and relationship building skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Prepare procurement schedules, provide detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents to ensure financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Subcontractor Liaison: Manage subcontractor accounts, including negotiating contracts, handling valuations, and processing payments.
- Financial Reporting: Provide accurate and timely financial reports, such as CVRs, forecast final costs, and cost analysis to support project decision-making.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential project financial risks, ensuring projects stay within budget and meet financial targets.
- Final Accounts: Lead the preparation of final accounts, including resolving contractual claims and settling costs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience of at least 3 years as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction or property development industry.
- Hold a relevant industry qualification (Level 4 or higher).
- Strong people management and relationship building skills.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
- Highly proficient in using Microsoft packages.
- Excellent written/numerical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, you will receive a range of benefits, including generous holiday entitlement, car allowance, life cover, and matching pension contribution.
