Job Title: Senior Highway Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Highway Engineer to join our Technical Approvals Team in Crewe. As a Senior Highway Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering expert technical advice and support to our clients, driving advancements and enhancements to our public highways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Team Leader in the delivery of the highways technical approvals function to achieve team objectives and strategies.
  • Manage the technical approval process for third-party works on the public highway network.
  • Provide professional and technical advice and support to enable the Council to undertake its duties as Highways Authority.
  • Analyse engineering problems, apply technical expertise, and produce innovative solutions using complex interactive computer systems to meet legal and management objectives.
  • Identify, prepare, design, plan, programme, and order works and services.

Requirements:

  • Experience in drainage design, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS).
  • Competence in the use of AutoCAD and Hydraulic modelling, preferably Microdrainage and/or Civils 3D.
  • Membership of a relevant Professional Institution.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Good knowledge and application of design procedures, guidance, and standards, and good practice documents.
  • Good knowledge of and application of Health and Safety legislation.
