Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Technical Approvals Team in Crewe. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering expert technical advice and support to drive advancements and enhancements to our public highways.

The Role

  • Support the Team Leader in the delivery of the highways technical approvals function to achieve team objectives and strategies.
  • Manage the technical approval process for third-party works on the public highway network.
  • Provide professional and technical advice and support to enable the Council to undertake its duties as Highways Authority.
  • Analyse engineering problems, apply technical expertise, and produce innovative solutions using complex computer systems to meet legal and management objectives.
  • Identify, prepare, design, plan, programme, and order works and services.

About You

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong background in drainage design, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS). You should have competence in the use of AutoCAD and Hydraulic modelling, preferably Microdrainage and/or Civils 3D. Membership of a relevant Professional Institution and evidence of continuous professional development are also essential.
