We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our Additional Learning Support Team.

Oaklands College offers a diverse range of curriculum areas across our two main campuses, providing students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in employment and Higher Education.

As an Academic Support Specialist, your role will involve providing consistent academic support to individuals or groups of students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities within our Mainstream provision.

Your primary focus will be on supporting learners academically inside and outside the classroom, working closely with tutors to meet the diverse needs of learners and deliver a high-quality student experience.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • a minimum of 2 years' general work experience working with students in school, adult education, or voluntary/charitable organisations;
  • a good standard of education, including 5 GCSEs at grade C or above or equivalent qualification or extensive experience;
  • effective communication skills;
  • accurate record-keeping skills;
  • knowledge of Education Health and Care Plans (although this is not essential).
