Job Title: Energy Management Professional

We are seeking an experienced Energy Management Professional to join the team at United Utilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining a prioritised management programme for the company's energy assets, balancing the expectations of stakeholders.

About the Role:
  • Contribute to the Energy Team service provision to the wider UU business areas, ensuring full compliance with required company and regulatory standards.
  • Responsible for UUW High Voltage and Low Voltage (HV/LV) asset plans, inspections programme, and remedial works.
  • Ensure statutory compliance is met, and remedial work is prioritised to minimise H&S and resilience risk.
  • Develop risk prioritisation analysis to target improvements in energy resilience and deliver mitigation plans.
  • Work with the Regional Programme and Risk Manager to understand end of AMP targets for the energy programme and use this as a basis for prioritising in-AMP asset interventions.
  • Lead business case development, governance, and sponsorship for energy resilience and maintenance programmes requiring capital investment.
  • Develop Project Requirements Statements to articulate investment needs and agree these with the delivery organisation.
  • Carry out post-investment appraisals and sign off completion of Project Requirements and oversee Benefits Assessment.
  • Manage Change control around project requirements and benefits.

Requirements:

  • A valid driving licence is essential.
  • Strong communicator and influencer to help develop and promote Asset Management Plans and intervention decisions.
  • Able to write persuasive recommendations to secure capital funding approval.
  • Experience of risk management techniques and sound knowledge of investment and appraisal methods.
  • A good understanding of the regulatory framework and funding mechanisms.
