About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HGV Maintenance Controller to join our expanding Compliance team based in Castleford.

As an HGV Maintenance Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the compliance of scheduled and reactive maintenance activities for commercial vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring that all commercial vehicles in your regional area of responsibility are properly maintained and compliant with regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with the Senior and Regional Transport Managers & wider Compliance Team to drive continual improvement across M Group Services. Your primary focus will be on building a cohesive and collaborative working relationship with customers and drivers in your regional area, as well as with internal and external maintenance providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance of scheduled and reactive maintenance activities for commercial vehicles
  • Manage maintenance records and events, including PMI, MOTs, and RFL expiry dates
  • Allocate maintenance activities to internal and external providers, raise purchase orders, and ensure accurate completion of work
  • Build strong relationships with customers, drivers, and internal stakeholders to deliver high standards of commercial vehicle maintenance and compliance
  • Effectively communicate with supply chain partners, customers, and drivers regarding maintenance activities
  • Set up new maintenance suppliers and implement regular meetings to build strong working relationships

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience in a transport environment, managing commercial vehicle maintenance activities
  • Sound knowledge of DVSA's guide to maintaining roadworthiness
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility, demonstrated through actions and behaviors
  • Customer-focused with effective communication skills and a commitment to delivering high standards of customer service
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, with knowledge of Key2 an advantage
  • Category B driving license
