Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Medical Professional to join our CAMHS team, providing senior medical support and direct input on clinical care to children and young people with mental health needs. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing guidance and supervision to junior colleagues, and developing links with local acute trusts' A&E departments and inpatient wards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior medical support to the CAMHS team, including direct input on clinical care and guidance to junior colleagues.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing care to children and young people with mental health needs.
  • Develop links with local acute trusts' A&E departments and inpatient wards.
  • Supervise junior colleagues and provide clinical supervision.
  • Assess, manage, plan, and deliver care to patients allocated to them.

Requirements

  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice.
  • Section 12 certification, or a commitment to work towards this.
  • Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders in children, including neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis) of which at least 2 years will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
