Part-Time Head of Finance

About the Job

We are seeking a skilled part-time financial manager to oversee the bookkeeping, general ledger functions, and fiscal reporting for our organization. The ideal candidate will have experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Applications, and donor databases such as Raiser's Edge.

The financial manager will work under the direction of the Executive Director, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date. This is a critical position responsible for budget oversight, cash flow management, and preparing interim reports.

This is a part-time position averaging 8-12 hours per week over a 52-week period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage relationships with banks and corporate members regarding financial matters.
  • Prepare interim reports, including financial statements and budget-to-actual reports.
  • Manage bookkeeping and general ledger functions, including payables, receivables, revenue, and expenses.
  • Maintain operational and financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Experience in general business management and cash flow management.
  • Advanced computer software skills in Excel, QuickBooks, and donor databases.
Estimated Salary

$35,000-$45,000 per year, based on 10 hours/week at $25/hour.
