Clinical Nurse Specialist for IBD and Ileoanal Pouch Surgery

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our IBD and Ileoanal Pouch Surgery team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide specialist nursing support and advice to patients undergoing surgery for IBD and j-pouch formation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and provide an advisory and supportive service to all patients undergoing IBD surgery and ileoanal pouch surgery.
- Provide education and information to patients considering surgery and to those who have undergone emergency surgery.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive follow-up, in nurse-led clinics and joint clinics with a focus on multidisciplinary management of Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
- Maintain the IBD and ileoanal pouch database and write and maintain literature supporting the information and education given to patients.
- Attend the cross-site IBD MDT and the monthly ileoanal MDT, and participate in joint IBD surgery ward rounds.

Requirements
- Registered Nurse with evidence of study at degree level and a Level 6 stoma care course.
- Experience at Band 6 with formal and informal teaching experience, experience of running nurse-led clinics, and substantial post-qualification experience in colorectal surgery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, IT skills, and teaching skills.
