About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our IBD and Ileoanal Pouch Surgery team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide specialist nursing support and advice to patients undergoing surgery for IBD and j-pouch formation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and provide an advisory and supportive service to all patients undergoing IBD surgery and ileoanal pouch surgery.
- Provide education and information to patients considering surgery and to those who have undergone emergency surgery.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive follow-up, in nurse-led clinics and joint clinics, with a focus on multidisciplinary management of Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
- Act as an expert resource to professionals involved in the care of these patients, both within the acute and primary care setting.
- Maintain oversight of the service's activity, governance, and clinical outcomes, working with the team on change initiatives as required.

Requirements
- Registered Nurse
- Evidence of study at degree level
- Level 6 stoma care course
- Experience at band 6
- Formal and informal teaching experience
- Experience of running nurse-led clinics
- Substantial post-qualification experience in colorectal surgery
