About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking an experienced and compassionate Learning Support Specialist to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic primary school setting, supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and contributing to their academic and personal growth.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers in creating inclusive and engaging learning environments for all students.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEN, tailoring approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Help monitor student progress, reporting on achievements and challenges to teachers.
  • Assist in preparing educational materials and setting up classroom activities that promote learning and development.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students, fostering a positive and safe classroom environment.
  • Supervise students during break times and on field trips as needed.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in education or a related field, with experience working in a classroom setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a nurturing approach to supporting students.
  • Previous experience working with SEN students, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently when needed.
