Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Permanent, Contract Basis

Salary: £20,000 - £24,000 (£80 - £100 per day) depending on experience

Location: West Drayton

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching staff to develop and provide quality learning for pupils with special education needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher in enabling each pupil to access their curriculum
  • Engage with playground activities to promote social interaction and inclusion
  • Support and encourage the development of pupils' education, focusing on their physical, emotional, and social welfare
  • Keep accurate records and attend review meetings to ensure effective communication and progress monitoring
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to maintain a collaborative approach to pupil support
  • Provide 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1 support to pupils with varying needs
  • Ensure children's safety at all times, promoting a secure and inclusive learning environment

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEN pupils, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges
  • Friendly, compassionate, and patient approach to supporting pupils
  • Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Confident working in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, with a strong focus on individualized support
