Job Description

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Lead Residential Care Manager to join our team at Area Camden in North London.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to support the Registered Manager in leading the day-to-day operations of our care home. As a Lead Residential Care Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care and support are provided to young people aged 11-18, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in residential childcare, with a strong background in leadership and staff supervision. You will be expected to work closely with the Registered Manager to develop and implement effective care plans, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Registered Manager in leading the care team, including supervising Key/Support Workers and ensuring supervision processes are implemented and recorded.
  2. Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring they meet the individual needs of young people.
  3. Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, making recommendations for improvement where necessary.
  4. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Ofsted inspections and health and safety legislation.
  5. Develop and maintain effective relationships with young people, families, and external agencies.
  6. Participate in recruitment and training activities, ensuring the care team is equipped to provide high-quality care.
  7. Administer medication to young people as prescribed, maintaining accurate records.
  8. Contribute to the effective running of the care home, ensuring all aspects of care delivery meet the high standards expected by Area Camden.

Requirements:

  • Residential childcare experience (2+ years)
  • Hold Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
  • Child Protection experience
  • Leadership and staff supervision skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication
  • Management of budgets and staff rotas
  • Project management skills and an enthusiastic disposition
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal development
