About the Role


We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join our team in a secondary school. The successful applicant will support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism and behavioural challenges, to help them achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Support pupils with SEND in a secondary school setting, providing individualized attention and care
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement personalized education plans that cater to each pupil's unique needs
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to pupils to help them overcome challenges and build resilience
  • Assist with classroom activities and manage pupil behaviour, maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Work closely with the SEND team to ensure pupils receive comprehensive support and care, tailored to their specific requirements

What You'll Need:



  • A strong understanding of SEND principles and practices, with experience working with pupils with Autism and behavioural challenges
  • An ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and grow in this role

Salary Range:


£25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
