Vehicle Mass Attribute Lead

Forseven, a pioneering company in the electric vehicle industry, is seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Mass Attribute Lead to join our team of innovative engineers and technologists. As a key member of our Vehicle Performance team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of transportation through cutting-edge advancements and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement mass targets that support product requirements, ensuring a robust plan to achieve these targets is in place.
  • Benchmark competitor data to validate targets and ensure competitiveness in the marketplace.
  • Set vehicle mass limits for certification, including Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) and Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWRs).
  • Cascade vehicle level mass data into design functions, including masses for different loading conditions, mass distributions, and vehicle moments of inertia.
  • Regularly report mass status and plan to achieve targets to senior leadership, taking accountability for attribute requirements.
  • Lead reviews with commodity teams to ensure accurate and robust status reporting and aligned risk & opportunity tracking.
  • Collaborate with other attribute teams to ensure the impact of the latest mass status on the customer is understood.
  • Work with the Engineering Data Management (EDM) team to improve tools and processes for mass properties calculation and mass reporting.
  • Ensure plans are in place for physical validation through part and vehicle weighing and lead investigations into unexpected results.
  • Work with vehicle homologation to ensure all market and legal requirements relating to mass are understood and captured within the target setting process.

Requirements:

  • Vehicle mass attribute experience in the automotive industry.
  • Experience in target setting, status reporting, and calculation of vehicle masses for different loading conditions.
  • Strong team player with excellent presentation skills, able to visually demonstrate problems and solutions to a wide range of audiences.
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Able to extract mass data and information from CAD (we use Catia V5).
  • Knowledge of mass requirements for vehicle homologation.
